  • Over 4 million visitors have visited At-Bristol since the doors opened on 8 July 2000
  • As an educational charity, At-Bristol has to fundraise around £1.25million per year to keep going as one the top UK's science centres
  • Nearly half a million children have visited on school trips
  • Nearly a million people have been wowed by the stars in the Planetarium
  • Over 400,000 ‘babies’ have been born in At-Bristol (in the walk-in womb!)
  • Over 1000 different exhibits have been seen by visitors in At-Bristol in the last 10 years
  • The At-Bristol building opened in October 1903 as a Great Western Railways goods shed, measuring 540ft by 133ft. It could hold 97 wagons which were unloaded with the help of eight electric cranes and three 30-cwt electric hoists
  • It was the earliest example of Hennebique reinforced concrete construction in this country, which employed the most innovative engineering methods of its day and is now a Grade II listed building
  • As well as star shows, the Planetarium is licensed for weddings so people really can get married under the stars!
  • At-Bristol have won 13 awards since opening including Winner of the Family Attraction of the Year, Best Disabled Facility award Car Park Star Award (making it one of the top ten car parks in the UK) and the RIBA Award for Architecture
