10th Birthday Celebrations!
Wed 7 July 2010
It is 10 years tomorrow since At-Bristol first opened its doors and as part of its celebrations, is holding the first ever Golden Morph awards Oscar-style ceremony at a special event on Saturday.
The awards will see the close of the first annual Animate It! competition which was launched with the successful exhibition in July 2009. Since then thousands have entered their own animations into the quarterly rounds, the winners of which have been entered the annual Golden Morphs, giving Aardman animators a run for their money!
On the 10 July, these winners will have the unique experience of seeing their animation premiered on the Big Screen in Millennium Square. They will then get the chance to meet some experts on animation, including Richard Williams the Animator Director for Who framed Roger Rabbit and Wallace and Gromit! Then on the awards ceremony to find out who will walk away with a coveted Golden Morph!
Another element of this important day includes the Community Day; At-Bristol has invited Community groups from Easton, St Paul’s and Barton Hill, and the local businesses which make up part of the Harbourside Community to enjoy the day in At-Bristol to say a big thank you for their continued support over the years.
Donna Speed, Commercial Operations Director of At-Bristol, states: “It’s great to be able to celebrate our anniversary with these important people with who have helped make At-Bristol what is it today.” She adds: “And to be able to mark this occasion with the first Golden Morphs is really exciting. There is a real buzz around At-Bristol as we can’t wait to see who will win!”
