Come and let Eye for Colour lead you through a dazzling world of colour, enjoy a variety of hands-on activities in Colourzone, and be amazed by the brilliant display of colourful flames, light and smoke in the Kaleidoshow!

Eye for Colour

Ever wondered how you’d feel if sausages were purple or what colour paint used to be made from ground up Egyptian mummies?

…well come and let Explore-At-Bristol’s eye opening interactive exhibition lead you through the dazzling world of colour.

Eye for Colour is suitable for all the family and arrives in Explore on 20 September 2008.

The exhibition has been developed by National Museums Liverpool, in association with At-Bristol, with support from the ReDiscover Fund.

Eye for Colour



In the Jungle

The jungle is a diverse, exotic, exciting and fascinating place to be!  Using a wide range of textures and objects, plus story telling and investigation stations for hands-on discovery, under 8s are encouraged to experience the variety of life in the jungle.

Wannabe Tarzans can embark upon their own expeditions into a magical jungle kingdom when In the Jungle, an exhibition for under-8s, comes roaring into Explore-At-Bristol!

In the Jungle is funded by the Millennium Commission through the ReDiscover fund, and is suitable for pre-school and Key Stage 1, from 20 September 2008.

BIG BANG!

Can recreating the conditions a billionth of a second after the Big Bang reveal the secrets of our Universe?

The Big Bang exhibition will lead you into the world of one of the greatest experiments of all time; one which could unlock some of the biggest mysteries of the universe.

This is a Science Museum travelling exhibition and is supported by the Science and Technology Facilities Council.

Jet set, go

Jet set, go is an interactive exhibition specifically for children under eight and their carers, exploring the airport, planes and travel through playful and imaginative games and activities.

The exhibition takes under 8s through the different stages of a holiday journey from packing their bags before they set off, to actually landing the plane. There are plenty of opportunities for dressing up and role-playing as airport staff, from air-traffic control to pilot and cabin crew.

This interactive website is packed with fun challenges, interactive games and activities to suit all abilities. Explore our specially designed home and discover fun maths puzzles in every corner. Autumn Night Sky

Get starry-eyed in the chrome-plated, iconic dome of Explore's Planetarium, where you can sit back and take a trip into space with our seasonal star shows.
In the Autumn night sky show, discover coloured stars, giant planets and and how to spot our own galaxy in the real night sky.

Autumn Night Sky is the brand new presenter led show for this season and is supported by BBC Sky At Night Magazine. Suitable for Ages over 5.

Kaleidoshow

Come and meet other parents in the fun, friendly surroundings of Explore on our special toddler afternoons. Entry to carers is half-price during these special sessions, and children under 5 go free. Don't miss the story-telling sessions!

Science Café

Join us in Café-At-Bristol on the second Tuesday of the month to meet and talk with local scientists. Science Cafés are informal evenings where you can discuss the latest issues in science over a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
