Find out how Space research affects your everyday life!
Find out how Space research affects your everyday life!
Why explore Space? How does Space exploration benefit us?
For over half a century people have been exploring Space, with
missions costing billions and billions of pounds.
Science has overcome many hurdles to find out more about the
universe and to get humans into Space.
This research has led to thousands of spin-offs used in everyday
life. |

Did you know that the first cordless drills were
developed for astronauts to use on the Moon? Or that the fuel used to
send rockets into space is now used to help clear minefields?
Find out how Space research has improved the safety of
fire-fighters, led to the development of ear thermometers, and even
contributed to your daily breakfast!
You can also investigate how astronauts might survive on other planets,
and how to build a space station.
Then step inside Explore's iconic silver sphere, for a trip to the stars
in our domed Planetarium. The daily presenter-led star shows change with
the seasons, letting you find out about the coloured stars, giant
planets and the constellations that you can see from your own back
garden throughout the year.
