These lights pieces by Tim Noble and Sue Webster invite us to question and look further than the surface, arousing curiosity to engage the viewer as we decipher them.

Made of stainless steel and carnival bulbs sequenced to shimmer continuously, these artworks appear to be just a beautiful glow from a distance.

Both pieces comprise handwritten text where the words run into each other, forcing the viewer to figure the text, whilst being seduced by the beauty of the pieces.

These two pieces of artwork were commissioned for the opening of At-Bristol in 2000 and were the artists' first commission for a permanent work for the outdoors.
